Upon complaint against thisnew form of wheel making, it has been de-cided that in future Chicagos Fire Depart-ment will not be a competitor in the cyclemanufacturing world. THE EARLY BIRD. J. W. Becker, of the Elmore ManufacturingCompany, of Clyde, Ohio, flitted into NewYork last week for a few days, and left ap-parently pleased with the outlook for the dis-position of his firms product for 97. Thecustom of the Elmore Company has ever beenthat of the early bird. It is to dispose oftheir wheels to half a dozen good housesearly in the season, and immediately com-mence the manufacturing of their product,which was the purpose of Mr. Beckers re-cent visit.
