Among the discomforts endured by reporters of the Russo-Turkish war was this night attack by wolves on the camp of The Times correspondent, Mr R. Coningsby, and The Illustrated London News artist, Mr Irving Montagu, whose drawing of the incident was published in the ILN of November 10, 1877.
