The most common mode of transport in central northern Namibia is by foot.

Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Cars and public transport exist but are not always around in the rural areas, especially when visiting the neighbouring village. Often the easiest choice is to just start walking and maybe someone will hitch you a ride. This image was captured in the Oshana Region during a documentary shoot in late 2008 before the rainy season. The open plain behind tree is known as an Oshana or seasonal lake. Oshanas will flood with rain water and turn into a temporary lake until it evaporates during the dry season (usually June until October).
