Description
English: The 1925 Mediterranean Revival structure was designed by Henry Taylor. When it first opened it's rates were an expensive $20 per night. Babe Ruth was one of it's early guests! During World War II the hotel was taken over by the U.S. Army and used for a training school. By the end of the 60s the hotel had fallen into disrepair. It sat vacant until the 90s when a $93m renovation gave it a new lease of life. The hotel is reputed to be haunted, even MLB players and staff staying at the hotel have reported paranormal activity!
