A thick dark blue stripe fleckedwith white runs from behind ear to frontof hindleg; below this blue stripe there isa red stripe which begins above forelegand terminates in front of hindleg. Alight line starts under eye, passesthrough, and includes ear, to aboveforeleg. Undersurface white. Remarks: Carlia jarnoldae exhibitsstriking sexual dichromatism, aphenomenon typical of most Carlia. Thisspecies is named after Jennifer Arnoldwho, in her M.Sc. thesis (Arnold, 1966),first suspected it was an undescribedspecies. Mitchell (1953, p.86) includedthis species in C. pectoralis, but thelatter differs from C. jarnoldae in having1. a more robust shape; 2. fewersupraciliaries (usually 5); 3. the longeraxis of the ear aperture vertical and in 4.male breeding colour (C. pectoralisbreeding males are unifor
