English: The Two Boats Inn at Long Itchington, Warwickshire Looking eastwards from Cuttle Bridge, the Two Boats public house by the Grand Union Canal will not have had many drinkers using the canal-side table facilities in the previous few days, during which a lot of rain had fallen (and there was a lot more to come!).
This canal-side pub appears to be of a similar age to the canal itself, which was built as the Warwick and Napton Canal in 1799. The merger of eight canal companies in 1929 saw the name change to the present Grand Union Canal. When it is not raining, drinkers can sit by the canal-side and observe the gardens of the pub the other side of the canal, the Cuttle Inn, or just watch the boats go by. |
