Late at night we came up with thebrigade on the Little River Pike, east of Aldie. The brightrail fires, circling around on the hills and illuminating thecountry, were pleasant to look upon. The fourth day we marched over familiar ground to Fair-fax Court House, and the fifth, only five miles or less, toFairfax Station. Our entire corps was here.
