Summary
[edit]DescriptionThe Tree of Hypatia - Flickr - Mario A. P..jpg |
www.safecreative.org/work/0810171151889 The Tree of Hypatia is a picture dedicated in fact to Hypatia, the woman who was the last keeper of the Library of Alexandria. She represents to me, the real hero of today's days, in which thanks to the new Library of Alexandria, the Internet, we are able to share knowledge without the restriction of imposed extremist copyright. Now, we have hazardous days to come in which the powerful entertainment industry is going to tell us that to share knowledge is a bad thing, or at least that you have to pay an amount of money for it. Creative Commons licences proves they are just wrong. Therefore I do encourage people to avoid the extremist copyright and use open licenses, so that Hypatia can live again. The Tree of Hypatia has branches which become roots and sink into the watering ground. Liberate culture. Please, consider joining Creative Commons licenses on Flickr. Log into your account and check here and here selecting the best CC license that suits your needs. Dedicated to Carlos Sanchez Almeida. |
