Description |
Page 1 includes interior photograph of J.D. Zahrt's Silk Shop at Westlake Ave. and Pine St. Page 3 features portrait of Clifford W. Kantner. Page 4 article "The Bomb" discusses the bomb sent to Mayor Ole Hanson's office on April 28, 1919 which failed to explode. The 3-story Silverstone Building, where J.D. Zahrt's Silk Shop was located, stood in the triangle of Westlake Ave., Fifth Ave. and Pine Street. That portion of Westlake Ave was eliminated when the present-day Westlake Center shopping mall was built, and this location is now part of Westlake Center. |
