Summary

[edit]
Description
English: The Tomen-y-mur to Segontium road. Tomen-y-mur for the Roman auxiliaries who manned it had the same reputation as Catterick had for post-WWII National Service men (although I have always found Catterick a pleasant enough place). Set at the outer edge of the Roman empire, it was manned mainly by Belgian mercenaries. It is a strange feeling to walk along this road knowing that one is walking in the footsteps of men who marched along this road almost two thousand years ago 267504
