| Description | Surprisingly, not built as a folly or garden house, but as an estate cottage - just a rather ostentatiously decorated one. It was highly - and deliberately - visible from the south drive to Cally Palace, but since the transfer of much of the estate to the Forestry Commission (and extensive forestry planting), and construction of the A75 that sliced the estate in two, the building rather lost its prominence. It's now a rather pleasant surprise on the woodland trail, and has been extensively consolidated. |
