She wears apetticoat of mauve silk, over which is a negligee of white, con-fined at the waist by a broad satin ribbon. Her dark headis supported on her left hand, on the third finger of whichgleams a wedding ring, and from the expression of her face itis evident that the telegram contains bad news.
