Summary
[edit]DescriptionThe Tannery - geograph.org.uk - 1105245.jpg |
English: The Tannery. This road was built on the site of the oldest and largest tannery in the area, having certainly been in existnece in the seventeenth century, if not earlier, and not closing until 1961. It was eventually largely demolished, only a few outhouses being retained (see 1105258), the rest of the site being used for housing, including this road which commemorates the former use of the site. |
