A TRAIN OF CARS ON THE LAKE SHORE ELECTRIC RAILWAY The cars are 52 ft. over all, 40 ft. over corner-posts, and8 ft. 7 ins. extreme width. The other important dimensionsare shown on the accompanying drawing. In order to giveextreme seating capacity, the baggage compartment waseliminated in the new car, but it is probable that they will berun in trains with some of the present equipment whichhave baggage compartments. The cars have Pullman shapedwindows, with gothic and deck sash glazed with cathedralart glass. The interior finish is of cherry, the main panelshaving borders i^l-^i^i with whHe holly, the ceiling of semi- brakes. An interesting feature is the use of the Lintern CarSignal Companys system of classification and marker lampson both ends. These are operated in connection with •storage battery which is also connected to two circuits oxlamps in the cars, thus holding up the illumination when thetrolley is off. The train operation was tested out last week by GeneralManager F. J
