ylvania,the electric road will probablymake no attempt to do astrictly freight business withtrains of box cars, althoughthe road is adapted for thiswork, but it will undoubtedlyderive considerable businessfrom switching cars to fac-tories and other points notreached by the steam line. Atpresent it is handling express matter in combination cars, and itwill shortly install a 47-ft. express car. It will handle high-class freight at rates somewhat higher than steam freight rates,and will operate express service at rates about the same asthose of the old-line companies, making deliveries in Salem,Alliance and Canton. It is possible that the company may decide to build beyondSalem, to either Columbiana or Lisbon, or perhaps to bothpoints. The former place is now connected with Youngstownby the Youngstown & Southern Railway, at present run as asteam line, but designed for third-rail operation, which wouldgive through electric connection from Canton to Youngstown.Lisbon is the county seat of Columbiana County, but the pres- connection with the business it already handles over the Can-ton-Akron line from Canton.
