CENTER-POLE CONSTRUCTION ONLONDON ROAD, DERBY the rails was then flushed up solid to the same height as theupper layer of fine concrete, with a strong grout consisting oftwo parts of sharp sand and one part of Portland cement, finallyflushed off with a trowel to the exact level. Afterward, bothsides of the webs of the rails were filled up solid to the outsidesof the running treads and the guard rails by good stiff mortarcomposed of two parts of clean sand to one part of Portlandcement. The rails weigh 95 lbs. to the yard, with 101-lb. curverails, and were supplied in 45-ft. lengths. Continuous railjoints are used. Five tie bars are employed to each 45 ft. of NEW DOUBLE-DECK CAR FOR GLASGOW electrical equipment, the motors being the GE 52, with typeK-10 controller.
