A single track is used toCazadero with frequent sidings, but ample room is providedfor a double track. About half of the Oregon City line isdouble tracked. There are 67 miles of single track operated bythe company and it is all standard gage. the southern end, hewn fir ties were employed, they being ob-tained from the adjoining timber lands. The rail-joints aresuspended and are laid even on tangent track, with nuts on theoutside of the rail. On curves the joints are broken. Therails are bonded with Edison-Brown bonds and also with ahome-made type consisting of solid copper wire. Open cattle-pits 8 ft. long have been adopted.
