Express trains, 25 minutes; way trains, 54 min-utes ; Hall Road way trains, 25 minutes. The total train mileageper diem was about 1900. With electricity the train mileage will be increased to 3200.The number of trains in each direction between Liverpool andSouthport will be increased from thirty-six to sixty-five, andbetween Liverpool and Hall Road from thirty-eight to fifty-four. Moreover, the running time from Liverpool to South-port will be decreased from 54 minutes as with steam to 37minutes, and from Liverpool to Hall Road from 25 minutes to17 minutes; the schedule time of the fast trains will remainunaltered, but there will be an express in each direction hourly,instead of only rarely. In addition to this the expresstrains will run on to Crossens, giving that suburba service of seventeen trains each way during theday. These arrangements, however, do not representthe ultimate capacity of the line, and if the traffic inthe course of a year or two were to demand it, there would be
