When finished there willbe 150 km (63 miles) of single track included in the streetlines of Nice and the stretch of 50 km (31 miles) along thecoast. The former horse car system of Nice has been greatlyextended and new lines have been added in and about thecity. In the central portions, and especially on such streetsas are traversed by the parades of the annual carnival, ithas been thought desirable to build an underground con-duit, but everywhere on the outskirts of the city the over-head trolley is used.
