Description

A fine shot today from the Eason Collection with old forms of transport occupying a broad square but with perhaps a crowd(?) in the distance.

The catalogue date range puts this in the first quarter of the 20th century, and the information that [/photos/gnmcauley/ Niall McAuley] provides for the visible Michael Dwyer memorial corroborates that. Thanks to [/photos/beachcomberaustralia/ beachcomberaustralia] for sharing some extra detail on Michael Dwyer himself. We're not sure what has drawn the small crowd in the background by Chapel Hill, but the collection of carts suggests a mart on the east-side of Market Square...
