A skylight is not just a view to the world above you, but a window to the world beneath. In this photo, taken in early June on the Puʻu ʻŌʻō crater at Kīlauea, the standalone skylight is amazing. The skylight is about 6m (20 ft) across and the lava stream is traveling toward the upper right side of the photo. Eruption episode 61g. You can see more photos at on.doi.gov/KilaueaPhotos. |
