| Description |
English: The Site of Plas Uwch Llyn Plas Uwch Llyn (mansion above lake) was the home of John Evans, the Welsh-speaking manager of Gorseddau Quarry, who left to manage the Hendre-ddu Quarry SH5144 after the failure of the Gorseddau Quarry in 1867. The last use of the house was as a youth hostel, but it was by then so badly haunted that the last warden abandoned it one wild and windy night and refused ever to set foot in it again. The building was later demolished. 272660. Song birds are said to avoid the site. |
