Summary

[edit]
Description
English: The Scotch Piper Inn. The oldest inn in Lancashire. Built around an oak tree in the 14 century and known as the Royal Oak. According to legend an injured Scotch Piper from the 1745 Rebellion took refuge at the inn, and later married the inn-keeper's daughter. The inn was re-named in his honour.
