VIEW OF THE LADYE CIIATEI , RESTORED. This beautiful Chapel, which is attached to the eastend of St. Saviours Church, is now nearly finished,having been restored in conformity with its ancientappearance, under the judicious direction of Mr.Gwilt. Many of our readers will recollect that it was pro-posed, some time since, to remove it altogether, onaccount of the expense which woiild be incurred byits restoration. This proposition was objected to onmore grounds than one. The admirers of Gothicarchitecture were desirous of rescuing so graceful aspecimen of building from destruction : many per-sons also felt an interest from its sacred character,as having formerly been set apart for divine worship,and, although not now so employed, as forming aportion of the noble and spacious church of St.Saviour. It is gratifying to observe, amidst the various im-provements carried on at this time, a disposition toavoid the sacrifice of what is venerable and interestingin buildings, when they can be spa
