Summary
[edit]DescriptionThe Saidan Mountain.jpg |
English: The Saidan Mountain, also known locally as 'Saidan tlângsâng' in the native Hmar language is the highest of its kind in this area. It is located in the village Saidan of Churachandpur District, Manipur, India.
This mountain has its own significances, to mention few, at the top of the peak of the mountain is a Cross, which is planted by the late Rev.Rochunga Pudaite, Founder of BIBLES for the World (BFTW). This cross attracts tourists and adventurers from all parts of the world. One can have a birds's eye view of the whole of Churachandpur and the beautiful Tuibangpui river from here. Some short walks from here is the Japanese Observatory Camp, with huge rocks arranged in a manner of an ideal cave for hide outs. This one known locally as "Japan Lungpui" is said to be the hide out of Japanese general, General.Sato during the WW ll. Relics and inscriptions found here tells a tale of the Japanese occupation during those time. |
