Description
English: The Rotunda Museum, Scarborough The Rotunda was built to the design of William Smith, the 'Father of English Geology', to house his fossil collection. It was opened in August 1829. It is a delightful place to visit, containing exhibits on local geology and archaeology, as well as an eclectic mix of artefacts that includes old scientific instruments.
