Description
English: Built as the Pear Tree Inn c1650. When the inn was purchased in 1878 by the american consul to Cardiff he changed the name to Rompney Castle hotel, a mock Tudor facade was added by Brains Brewery in 1930`s. Rompney was the spelling of Rumney used in the Tudor period.THe detailing and chimneys are original Jacobean The very long pub (about 45 metres) has two bars, one either side of the central lounge.
