Description
English: The River Lagan, Belfast (1990) (1). In the days before Laganside 501596 and the Lagan Weir 347520 the Lagan presented a neglected sight and produced (at times) an unpleasant smell. Rowers 576437 who came in contact with the water were advised to go straight to A&E for an anti-tetanus injection. This is the Lagan between the railway bridge 962522 and the Albert Bridge 191127 with the inter-tidal muddy banks on view. 800271 is a similar view today. The Sirocco Works was still trading at Bridge End (upper left) - now moved closer to the harbour. See also 999230.
