- GENERAL OBSERVATIONS ON FASHION AND DRESS. nz light colours. Ribbons, or a mixtureof ribbons and spring flowers, areused to adorn Leghorn bonnets;those of satin are decorated withfeathers. Several elegant novelties in springfashions have been submitted to ourinspection, which we shall endeavourto describe to our readers. A spencerof grass green velours epingle, mo-derately long in the waist, made tofasten in front, and with a very lowcollar: the collar and mancheron tocorrespond; the latter very full, anddisposed in three drapery folds. Themancheron is confined to the arm bya band, which is concealed by thelast of the folds. The back full atthe bottom, and something broaderthan they have lately been worn.The bust is ornamented, in a very no-vel style, with rouleaus of satin, inthe form of rings interlaced. Thistrimming goes down the bust in asloping direction, from the point ofthe shoulder to the bottom of thewaist, where it meets; the ceintureis of embroidered ribbon, fastened bya
