Commencing from above downwards, the round ballat the top was placed in the right frontal lobe of the brain, and the conical bullet next to it also inside the brain, close tothe right parietal bone. As the right side of the head was placednext the sensitive plate, both these bullets were brought close to thefilm, a fact which accounts for their clear definition. Much the same may besaid of the remaining bullet, which is deeply embedded in themiddle line of the muscles of the back of the neck. In the absence of definite information as to details, it may beconjectured that the tube, acting strongly from both a photographicand a penetrative point of view, was placed close to the skull, andthat the exposure was fairly long. Under those conditions, theside of the skull next the lamp would be reproduced only faintly, ifat all, and a reference to the figure will show that it representsmainly one side of the skull, namely, that next to the plate. Itwill be noticed that the frontal sinus is displayed, the gums aretoothless, the tongue well defined, and, lastly, that the excellence ofthe result is to some extent accounted for by the thin bones, andthe fact that the photograph was obtaine
