Shehad swallowed a pin six days previously, and had taken purgativesfreely for several days. She then grew alarmed, and consulteda medical man. The radiogram showed a pin apparently aboutmidway in the ascending colon, and a prognosis of speedy passage MEDICAL AND SURGICAL APPLICATIONS 163 was made.
