The village of Thurlton - situated 22 kilometres south-east of the city of Norwich, and 15 kilometres west of the Suffolk coastal town of Lowestoft - is located on the edge of the marshes south of the River Yare. Thurlton has about 800 inhabitants including over 200 children and young people under the age of 19.
