English: Oil painting, by Dutch painter Hubert Vos, of the dowager Empress Cixi of Qing Dynasty siting on an armchair. On the bamboo forest painted background, there is written from right to left, in traditionnal chinese 《大清國慈禧皇太后》 (simplified : 《大清国慈禧皇太后》), meaning "Great Qing Empire Cixi Empress". Cups of fruits surrounding the character, as for any highest rank personality in Imperial China.
Français : Peinture à l'huile, par le peintre néerlandais Hubert Vos, de l'impératrice douairière Cixi de la Dynastie Qing assise sur un fauteuil. Sur le fond décoré d'une peinture de forêt de bambou, il y a une inscription en chinois traditionnel :《大清國慈禧皇太后》 (en version simplifiée : 《大清国慈禧皇太后》), signifiant « Impératrice Cixi du Grand Empire Qing ». Des coupes de fruits entourent le personnage, comme pour toutes les personnalités de plus haut rang de la Chine impériale.
