There are two hotels, the RailroadHouse, which is well kejit, and the Lake House,on the bank of the Truckee River, a most desirable place for a few days stay. One dailystage leaves for Susanville, via Long Valley,in the California portion of the Sierra Nevadas,and another for Fort Bidwell and Surprise Val-ley, vid Pyramid Lake. The Pea Vine District is nine mUes north-west, and about 1,500 feet above Reno, in whichare valuable mines of dark sulphuret oreâthebasest work on the coast, and worked success-fully only of late by the OHara process. The Nevada and Oregon Railroad Companyhave organized to build a narrow gauge (3 feet)road from a point at or near Aurora, EsmeraldaCounty, Nev., to a point at or near Goose Lake 220 wmm pmâ¬iwi⬠wQwmiBw.
