A very large volume of water issuesforth from the little hole in the rock—scarcelylarger than the top of a barrel—about four feetwide and six to twenty inches deep. Immedi-ately near the rock is a little pool, in which thewater, still hot, deposits a peculiar greenish coloron the sides, and coats the long, wavy grass withits sulphurous sediment. Flowing beneath therailroad track and beyond in the meadows, itforms a beautiful little lake, called Hot SpringLake, which, constantly filling up, is steadily in-creasing its area, and, practice tly, destroying all of South Temple street, and directly oppositethe Tabernacle.
