The Te TarataSpring of New Zealand, is the nearest approachto it in appearance, but the formation is ofa different character; the Gaidiners RiverSprings depositing calcareous material, whilethat in New Zealand is siliceous, like the depositsin the geyser region of Iceland, and inoiu- owngeyser basins, at the head of the INIadison.
