Description |
English: The Overdrove Ox An image of the chaos caused by an ox running amok on London Bridge. Pursued by dogs and an angry mob, the ox charges across the bridge from left to right upsetting the Greenwich and Blackheath coach. A church tower is visible to the left and ship masts behind. The print was first published by William Holland in 1787 and republished in 1790, this example has been trimmed removing the inscription that would appear below the image. KB 11/13 |
