Summary
[edit]DescriptionThe Old Sawmill Renishaw Hall - geograph.org.uk - 28556.jpg |
English: The Old Sawmill Renishaw Hall. The old sawmill on the Renishaw Hall estate originally provided electricity to the hall using a water driven generator.
Later it was adapted for use as a sawmill driven first by a water turbine and then by steam. The steam engine, a Ruston's stationary engine, was originally ordered by Imperial Russia but was never delivered because of the Revolution. The engine has been restored and is on display in the stable yard. |
