Description
English: The Old Maltings. Viewed from across the A149. A plaque > 798727 on the gable end indicates that it was built in 1920. Beside it a pillbox can be seen. Described as a good example of a WW1 pillbox in the Defence of Britain database, this pillbox was constructed between 1814 and 1918. Defence of Britain database ID: S0001261. This pillbox was part of the River Ant Fortifications line which ran inland from the coast at Weybourne and along the course of the River Ant and the North Walsham and Dilham Canal all the way to here at Wayford Bridge and the natural defence of the Norfolk Braods.
