Summary
[edit]DescriptionThe Old Harbour - geograph.org.uk - 1727915.jpg |
English: The Old Harbour. The photograph of the Old Harbour (sometimes referred to as the Inner Harbour), which was taken from the end of Old Pier near the drawbridge, shows West Pier 1730757 (commercial fishing pier on the left) and the goods quay (ahead).
The blue fishing boat is 'Utilise' FR-325 out of Fraserburgh, which must either have been based in Scarborough or was a regular visitor as she can also be seen in this later (1970) photograph, https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1731971 . The wood boat being unloaded at the goods quay is the Sleipner. For a photograph of the goods quay, click here: https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1728736 or to see timber being unloaded, click here: https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1730035 . To see a photograph of the drawbridge, click here https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1729220 . - - - The data given for the date taken is the processing date on the slide and therefore could have been taken several weeks earlier. |
