| Description |
English: The Old Charity School, Caerleon Viewed from High Street. The former school is located on the corner of The Broadway and High Street, opposite Museum Street.
Built in 1724, the school was formed for the education of up to thirty boys and twenty girls between the ages of seven and twelve. They were taught reading and arithmetic, the girls also learning spinning "as was the occupation of women in the local houses". |
