Summary

[edit]
Description
English: The Old Battery A strategic fort built during the Napoleonic wars to protect the western entrance to the Solent. The Needles are beyond and below the white cabin. It is now called the Old Battery to distinguish it from the New Battery, a WWI fortification behind us. The remains are now demilitarised and operated as a museum by the National Trust.
