This stirred in mydesire to measure up the splendidexamples, and when I took my firstset of Bald Eagle after a hard climbnear Washington, D. C. I wanted topreserve it up to the highest standardand struck on a new idea. I took ahypodermic syringe and filled thepoint and used water to force the con-tents from the Eagle egg. By takingthe utmost care I entirely emptied thecontents through a single hole. Iwould recommend such methods foruse on such eggs as the California Con-dor, but it is to be trusted that nomore eggs of this bird will be taken.Mr. Stephens of San Diego states thatnow days a collector who would col-lect Condors eggs for profit would .
