patch and a Bells Vireo hadfour well incubated eggs in anotherplum thicket, June 18th another pairwas in the Cottonwood grove. A pairof Red-eye Vireos had one young ina Box alder near the house and an-other pair in a cottonwood near thebarn yard. A pair of Red-headedWoodpeckers had eggs in the samehole in which they, or some other pairhad nested last year. I cut into thenest hole the year before from theupper side of limb and saw the eggsand tied the bark with some twine, theyoung came out in due time. A pair of Kingbirds nested in thetop of an apple tree; a pair ofGrackles farther down and below it aMourning Dove; all held eggs at thesame time. A yellow-billed Cuckoohad two young in a peach tree andtwo other pair were in the hedge row.A Mocking birds nest held three eggsin a peach tree in the back part ofthe orchard.
