English: The North End of College Lake. From Right to Left.
The deep end of College Lake. This area was pumped dry while quarrying was continuing up to 1991. On the far bank of the lake, the green below the cliff top is 1397596 and 1397599. A small constructed island. Big Paddy. See 1397585. . A low cliff (as seen above water level) representing the north end of the deep part of the quarry. A wide quarried platform, with some rough vegetation. When the quarry was working a large excavator was based here and there was a conveyor belt that took the excavated chalk across the railway line which forms the east boundary of the reserve, to the cement works, whose high chimneys used to dominate the sky line.
