[edit]DescriptionThe National Archives at Kew - geograph.org.uk - 1334979.jpg |
English: The National Archives at Kew. This impressive building holds the National Archives (formerly the Public Records Office) and provides excellent facilities got the public to access them. I t was opened in 1977. It consists of two huge rectangular wings plus a linking central block with the public entrance, shown above. On the west side there is a small park with water features. In recent years it has greatly improved its facilities for genealogists and family historians, with free computer access to digitised records - as well as the facilities for researching original documents.
