Description: Typical Somali country: sand, stones and thornbush. Approaching an enemy fort erected on the only waterhole for miles, used by the local robber sultan to squeeze his ten per cent from all tribes watering at the hole. Actually this fort was on the British-Italian frontier, and the Ities objected strongly to our operations. Location: British Somaliland Date: 1922 Description: The fort, after we had captured it.
