Summary
[edit]DescriptionThe Mediterranean Sea is still heavily affected by the extreme temperatures.jpg |
English: The record-breaking temperatures that have been affecting Europe over the past couple of months continue to impact the waters of the Mediterranean Sea: marine ecosystems are suffering from the consequences of prolonged higher-than-average temperatures. This visualisation, based on data from the Copernicus Marine Environment Monitoring Service (CMEMS), displays the Sea Surface Temperature (SST) anomaly recorded on 22 July 2022. The data show an anomaly of up to +5°C persisting along the coasts of France and Italy. The Copernicus Marine Environment Monitoring Service provides open data and information on marine ecosystems which are key for monitoring the effects of climate change on marine environments. |
