nk s Mayflower. ARCTOTIS GRANDIS. A charming new daisy-like plantfrom Southwestern Africa, attain-ing a height of 2 to 3 feet, and thesame breadth. It Is to be treated asan annual. The foliage is soft anddowny, and of a whitish color. Theflowers are 2% to 3 inches in diame-ter, borne on long stems, and freelyproduced from early summer untilautumn. The ray flowers or petalsare pure white on the upper sur-face, with a narrow zone of yellowat the base. The reverse or lowerside of the petal is a pale lilac blueThe disc or centre of the flower islight blue, with slightly projectmgwhite stamens, producing a charm-ing and unique eflect. The plant isof easy culture and flourishes wellIn its new home. It is a good cutflower and will last in water forseveral days, and I commend it tothose of my friends who wish tokeep up with the latest and mostvaluable of the floral novelties.The fully expanded flat floweismake a grand showing in brightsunlight, and the plant is veryhandsome.
