| Description |
English: The Main Street Crovie The old fishing village of Crovie on Gamrie Bay was established by people evicted from their land during the Highland clearances. They built their houses on the very edge of the sea on a narrow strip of level ground at the bottom of a steep hill. The only "street" is too narrow for vehicles and so everything has to be brought to the houses by handcart or wheelbarrow. Nowadays the houses are holiday cottages in the main. |
